Meet Imma: Bringing the Heart, Flavor, and Warmth of Naples to Your Mailbox
Imma was born and raised in Naples, where the morning air carries the rich aroma of espresso and the Mediterranean breeze. For her, the most important side of Naples is the one all the tourist guidebooks often miss – the quiet warmth of family traditions, the beauty of slow-cooked meals, and the deep sense of community that turns everyday moments into something worth celebrating.
Step into her home, and you’ll see that her thoughtful eye applied to her true passion: the kitchen. To Imma, making fresh pasta is both an exact science and a love language. Ask her about dinner, and she’ll happily explain how the architecture of every pasta shape is built for a specific sauce: why a heavy, slow-simmered Neapolitan ragù needs a wide, sturdy ribbon like pappardelle to cling to, or how a delicate, oil-based sauce belongs with long, smooth strands of linguine. And don’t start her on what she thinks about pineapple on pizza!
Her home is a lively, joyful place filled with love, laughter, and the gentle chaos of family life. She shares her days with her husband Amadeo, their two spirited children – with a third little one on the way – and Gauss, their curious cat, named after the great mathematician. Together, they tend to a small vegetable allotment where Amadeo nurtures homegrown greens, sun-ripened tomatoes, and fresh basil, bringing the rich flavors of Neapolitan soil straight from the garden to their dinner table.
What makes Imma’s voice so special is her generous, open-hearted spirit of a true Neapolitan mother. Her writing invites you to pull up a chair at her table, smell the garlic and tomatoes simmering on the stove, and experience the authentic, unhurried rhythm of Italian living.
We are so honored to welcome Imma to the Around the World in 80 Cards family. Her reflections bring a rich, grounded warmth, and we can’t wait for you to experience the heart, humor, and simple magic she carries from the streets of Naples directly to your doorstep this August.
